Einjähriges
Ausbildungsprogramm in Meisner-Technik in Berlin
Actors-Space
einjährige Ausbildung in
Sanford Meisners kompletten Unterrichtsprogramm!
leben.Zusätzlich zu
diesen Kernstunden gibt es regelmäßigen, auf die
Prinzipien des Meisner-Unterrichts abgestimmten Unterricht in
Stimmerziehung, Bewegungslehre und Kameraschauspiel.
Neben
mitzuwirken.
Dieses
Ein-Jahres-Programm wird Dir tiefes Vertrauen in Dein Handwerk geben
und Dich dazu befähigen, in jedem Moment Deines Spiels
spielerisch, spontan und authentisch zu sein.
Dies ist
die einzige Meisner-Schauspielausbildung in
Deutschland, die sämtliche Übungen getreu dem New
Yorker Vorbild unterrichtet.
Actors-Space Berlin, home to Germany's leading professional Meisner
classes, embarked two years ago on our first year-long,
foundational
acting programmes. Due
to a huge interest in our offer, we are preparing to open a fourth
stream of this training, to begin after Easter 2012. Three
semesters of twelve weeks each, and a final
intensive course leading to a theatre production at the end of the
year. In addition to
the core acting classes, you will benefit from regular voice,
movement and camera training, with the Actors-Space faculty of
top
coaches. This
is a unique opportunity for anyone who is serious about the craft of
acting, and is looking to train, or re-train, the necessary skills.
Meisner's
unique approach to acting will teach you, in absolutely
practical ways, to relate deeply to your partner's
behaviour and respond truthfully, from moment to moment.
You will
discover how to work from your character's point of
view, improvising freely within the character's circumstances.
Through the year you will work repeatedly with scenes and monologues to
test and deepen your understanding of the
work. Studying text analysis, the creation of character and
good audition practice, you will have the chance in the
final semester to participate in a full theatre production, as
part of the Actors-Space Ensemble.
This year
will instil deep confidence in your skill as an actor,
allowing you to be playful, spontaneous and authentic in every
moment of your work. This
is the only Meisner actors programme in Europe that
offers a full experience of all the exercises as they
are taught in New York.
Fees: start at 4165Euro for the core
Meisner programme, with additional modules payable separately.
Fees may be paid in instalments throughout the year.
Sponsorship of your fees might be available from GVL, the FFA or the
Arbeitsamt, depending on your status. The Bundesministerium fuer
Bildung und Forschung also give a Bildungspraemie which will pay up to
500Euro of these fees, if you qualify.
Meisner
technique & Text work: six
week introduction
Weekly
class from January 25th to February 29th
Following an introduction to the fundamental
exercises in the Meisner technique, this is the next opportunity to
develop its application to our work, and specifically to experience its
effect on text.
We
will examine how to "let go" of the apparent demands of the script, and
let the text be influenced organically, honestly by the moment-to-
moment events in the scene.
In basic scene analysis, discovering which are the most useful
questions to ask,
and where in our technique lie the most productive answers.
Above all,
we are looking to that experience of living through each moment in
authentic, open contact with the other actors. We will do this through
a variety of scenes and texts. The work will be taught by Mike in
fluent English and bad German.
Wednesday afternoons, from January 25th 2012 to February 29th
14:30 to 17:30Uhr

Suitable
for people new to Sara's work, but also developing from her last eight
week course, in this workshop she focuses on strengthening, softening,
and expanding the instrument. The actor can experience heightened
emotion while
remaining grounded and free of unnecessary physical tension. We work
with three core techniques. The Williamson Technique
explores the three stages of the physical process of acting:
sensation becomes experience which then translates to behavior,
movement and sound.
The Laban Technique
offers a wide spectrum of movement vocabulary giving the actor an
understanding of tempo, intention, and intensity of movement.
The Mayans Technique
works with the seven different energy centers of the body and
explores how tapping into them can offer power, joy, openness, and
personal and artistic freedom and versatility.
The introduction to and
collaboration of these three techniques gives the actor a
comprehensive movement vocabulary that supports a fully embodied
performance.
Cost:
120Euro for the ten weeks (this is not a drop-in class)
Sara George: at the foundation of her
movement training there is
Ballet, Salsa, East Coast Swing, Belly Dance, Tai Chi, Hatha,
Vinyasa, and Iyengar Yoga. In 2006 Sara was invited to join the Grace
and Glory Ensemble, an International theater company dedicated to the
dramatization of epic stories such as Gilgamesh and Quetzalcoatal. In
2009, she moved to New York City and completed the two year
conservatory program at the William Esper Acting Studio. There she
studied the Meisner, Williamson, Mayans, and Laban
Techniques. New
York credits include the International Actors Theater, a company
dedicated to experimental classical work and a vocal technique called
Audio Kenetics. Sara also collaborated with Hands Together Theater, a
company that works with a resident playwright creating site specific
pieces of theater.

Myth/Personality/Type)
A vague or inaccurate view of
yourself can lead to a great deal of confusion in your work. We are not
interested in limiting an actor to “type casting”. But understanding which
qualities which are most forwardly present in your personal energy can be the
key to a happier working experience, from head-shot photos, through castings and
agent meetings, all the way through to the job itself.
Wolfgang will guide you through

Réka Kincses and
Mike Bernardin – creating a film project from scratch, using Aufstellung
principles
MEISNER TECHNIQUE meets AUFSTELLUNGSARBEIT –
Alle Teilnehmer an diesem bahnbrechenden

casting monologue, an exercise, emotional preparation...

If you are unsure if you want to make this commitment, please feel free

FRAME"
PRACTICAL CAMERA WORKSHOP,
with Mike Bernardin AND Wolfgang Wimmer:
Weekend Intensive, DATES TO BE CONFIRMED
Book now to reserve a place on this popular course
The
biggest challenge facing actors sometimes comes AFTER they
have begun to taste the creative freedom that the Meisner
Technique offers. In our class work we allow ourselves total
liberty both to investigate and free ourselves from the
perceived
demands of the scene. But in the workplace the pressure to conform and
deliver someone else's vision easily reasserts itself.
Especially when
we know that the camera can SEE everything...
What
does it mean to act for the camera? What is my job actually? How can I
allow the camera to grant
me MORE freedom, rather than stealing my creativity away?
How do we sustain our total inner freedom in the face of these
questions?
Work with Mike and Wolfgang to begin to untangle the trick of truthful
acting for film.

******************************************************************* NEW DATES:
"FILM FOR ACTORS"
From
Story concept to Shooting day...
Eight week course starts October 14th
FULL FULL FULL - look for January dates..
What
you know about
the whole process of making a film deeply affects how you view your own
part within it. This fantastically complex set of interlocking
responsibilities demands actors who know how to bring what is actually
necessary to their work, and who do not waste their energies (and the
crew's time) on unnecessary anxieties or ineffective acting choices...
Actors need to fall in love with film, and the best way to do that is
to get to know our fellow film-makers. Each area of film-making creates
exciting opportunities for actors, if we understand them properly and
act accordingly. We will walk for these eight sessions together in the
shoes of each practitioner, looking for the very practical benefit this
knowledge has for our acting. The objective is to create a film project
from scratch, seeing it through its entire process, and finishing the
course by filming at least two pages of the resulting script(s)...
1. The story. From idea to treatment.
2. The script. From treatment to dialogue.
3. What is "dramaturgy" and what do we need to know about it?
4. "Breaking Down" the characters
5. We cast the film
6. We analyse and set the preparation
7. We work on the characters
8. We form the "team" - We start shooting
Each session will feature Wolfgang's extensive experience in all of the
departments of filmmaking, and will include practical exercises to
reinforce the session's point. All skills
pertaining to acting for camera will be touched upon, but with
particular focus on WHY
these things work the way they do.
FRIDAY
AFTERNOONS from 2.00pm - The class will last upto at least 4 hours. Starts
Friday October 14th till December 16th (includes a two weeks
break)
Participants from outside the
Actors-Space pay 260Euro
for the full eight weeks.
Actors-Space members pay a reduced rate of 225Euro
Year-Long Students get a further reduced rate.
********************************************************* "SCENE ANALYSIS" with Wolfgang
Wimmer
Breaking
down the shooting script into playable elements:
look for Spring Dates
The script you have been offered, whether for a casting or for a
shooting engagement, requires a careful attention to detail
and
the willingness to prepare accordingly...
Film scripts especially need a careful rigour, since so much more space
is given to the visual information rather than to the spoken word, and
actors need to be ready to supply the behaviour which will tell the
story truthfully. Come ready to learn which questions are the most
productive to ask, and how to recognise when you have real answers...
Participants from outside the Actors-Space pay 120Euro for the four
sessions.
Actors-Space members pay a reduced rate of 95Euro
Year-Long Students get a further reduced rate.
Suitable for people new to Sara's work, but also developing from her
last eight week course, in this workshop she focuses on strengthening,
softening, and expanding the instrument. The actor can experience
heightened emotion while
remaining grounded and free of unnecessary physical tension.
We work with three core techniques.
Sara George: at the foundation of her
movement training there is

previous study requirements may be stipulated, depending on the course
content. These include longer term closed group training courses,
with participation by invitation only.
